What people are saying about us...

Hey Jonte is a young theatre company whose mission is to give a women a place to roar and an outlet for everyone to "man up." Breaking the Shakespeare Code is a venture that succeeds delightfully on both counts.'

THEATRE IS EASY
'Not only is St. Francis a great play, but it is one of the most professional Fringe productions I’ve seen this year.'

'The worst part about the NYC Fringe Festival is finding a gem of a show like St. Francis, only to discover it is closing the next day. Written by and starring Miranda Jonte as Tessa, St. Francis is a beautiful play about a strong female character who follows her passion for animals above all else. I just wish I had seen Jonte's piece earlier in its run, so I could have told others to go.'

MALINISM
Under the flawless direction of Stephen Brotebeck, Jonte's tightly written 75 minute play hits the audience in all the right places

'Minigan’s clever writing, Brotebeck’s  sharp direction and Jonte and Weinert’s compelling performances put everything in sync for the audience.'

NY THEATER NOW
'Both Tim Weinert as Curt and Miranda Jonte as Anna are terrific and they spit out their dialogue with realism and razor sharp accuracy. In their hands, not one line of dialogue feels false or out of place. The verbal sparring they engage in is a joy to watch. Each scene is a slow build to an emotional showdown and director Stephen Brotebeck never fails to keep these actors and the audience on their toes.'

THEATERMANIA
'Stephen Brotebeck has directed a brilliantly acted production of Minigan's intelligent play about the coded language of reluctant lovers. Jonte and Weinert electrify the stage like a modern Beatrice and Benedick with their exquisitely nuanced performances and onstage chemistry. In many ways, the play is a love letter to the power of Shakespeare's words as well as to the acting profession itself, and anyone who cares about either of these things will find this show exhilarating. Jonte and Weinert are the production's main attractions, though, and their performances are not to be missed.'

'It is one of finest plays you'll see at Fringe this season.'
